American Beer Tasting at Silver Apples, Manchester

An evening tasting some of the finest beers in American craft brewing.

We're delighted to announce a unique tasting event at a hidden gem of a bar in Manchester's Didsbury.

Silver Apples threw open its doors in November 2008 and describe themselves as being 'inspired by the Budapest-café culture'. They certainly are unique and their combination of great food (continental platters, warming one-pots, gourmet pies etc) fantastic world beers and live music in a cosy, welcoming setting make for a brilliant bar.

The event will be hosted by Nigel Stevenson with suggestions of a few other guest appearances for the evening, but the main stars of the show will be the great American beers from Flying Dog Ales, Brooklyn Brewery, Goose Island and Anchor Brewing Co.

The past year has seen a huge swell in interest from the UK and Europe in the American craft brewing scene with trade journals such as Off Licence News and Imbibe have focusing on this area of brewing, which is also showing considerable recognition amongst the UK consumers.
