Chimay
“Here, in this heaven of peace and silence where since 1850 Trappist monks have dedicated their life to God, products are made which, in themselves, gladden the heart of man.”
Best enjoyed in its distinctive Trappist chalice, this is without doubt a Trappist beer of great tradition. The Cistercian Trappist monks of Chimay have been brewing since 1862, with their abbey being located on the site of a well which provides pure water for the beer.
Chimay Red (7.0 abv)
Imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, it is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness.
Chimay White (8.0 abv)
Golden in colour with an agreeable aroma, a combination of fresh hops and yeast.
Chimay Blue (9.0 abv)
A dark, strong ale characterised by its full flavour and port-like aroma.
