OrvalTrappist Cistercian monks of the Brasserie d'Orval produce only one beer, distictive in it's skittle shaped bottle. Orval is a very dry, herby beer which is ideal as an aperitif and characterised by a bouquet of fresh hops, with a fruity note and pronounced bitterness. As with other Trappist beers, the flavours will change depending upon age of the beer and the temperature it is served at. You may not know...Legend has it that Countess Matilda of Tuscany lost her gold ring in a local lake and pledged that if it were restored to her she would thank God by building an abbey. The ring was brought to the surface by a trout and the abbey is at that very spot. Trade customers can order Orval by calling UK importer and disttibutor James Clay on 01422 377 560
