James Clay is an importer, distributor and brand builder of speciality beer from Europe, USA, UK and Japan. We focus on delivering both national and international beers that challenge and excite out customers. At James Clay we have built strong working relationships both with brewers and our customers that range from bar and pub operators, wholesalers, restaurateurs to retailers.
Our Head Office is located in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, within commuting distance of Manchester and Leeds.

Sales Documents: inputting and management
This role is responsible for inputting orders onto our computer system while checking for any payment, credit or delivery issues. These orders are then printed as ‘picking lists’ and ‘delivery notes’ ready for checking and warehouse dispatch. This role will also be required to manage orders placed on an online ordering portal (currently in development) such as making stock allocation adjustments and communicating any issues with customers.
Using our call management system to ring existing customers for their order and inform them of any new lines and special offers. Cross checking against customers frequently ordered products to ensure customers have not forgotten to order regularly ordered beers. Using guidance provided, proactively and reactively providing product range advice to help customers develop their businesses through James Clay’s beers. Receiving incoming phone calls to take orders or transfer internally as appropriate
Sales Documents: invoice and credit processing
After deliveries have been completed ‘delivery notes’ require processing into invoices with credits raised for returned empties. These invoices need checking for correct information, quantity and discounts before updating on computer and printing.
Managing customers that visit site to collect orders by checking order and loading onto vehicle as well as taking payment.
Samples and Glassware
Picking sample beer and glassware requests as required by sales team, packing and preparing for dispatch with the 3rd party courier. Completing internal paperwork and online documentation for collection.
You will also be required to do additional office duties as requested such as filing and helping with repacking jobs and when we have excess warehouse pressures.

Hours and Conditions
The normal working hours for this job are 8.30am to 5.00pm, with 30 minutes for lunch to be taken on rotation as agreed between the team. There may be a requirement for earlier starts and later finishes when we are busy or others in the team are on holiday.
The role has a monthly paid salary. We do not have official unpaid breaks for coffee or overtime rates.
Annual holiday accrues at 1.6 days for every month worked to a maximum of 20 days per year plus statutory bank holidays and will be paid at the average daily rate. All holidays must be agreed with management.
